The Barre

Dún Laoghaire, Co. Dublin

Barre and reformer,
taught in a room
small enough to notice you.

The Barre is Sophie Mallen's studio on George's Street Lower — four reformers, a barre, and classes capped low enough that every set gets corrected. Strength, movement and personalised support, including pregnancy and postnatal work.

Barre class in progress at the studio, mirrored wall and warm wooden barre

A studio built for four,
not forty.

You'll find us inside Ask the Midwife on George's Street Lower — a low-lit room with a barre, four reformers and mats. It was set up deliberately small so that classes stay personal: springs get adjusted for you, form gets corrected, and you leave knowing what you did.

Barre is still relatively new in Ireland. It gives you the toning, deep core work and connection of Pilates at a faster pace — and it's genuinely good fun.

Sophie is such a lovely instructor, really attentive and the studio is gorgeous. Best barre class I've done in Dublin.

Small class, so much personal attention. My form was corrected the whole way through — you feel it the next day.
